The weekly benefit will be a portion of the employee’s weekly salary, capped at $850 per week. Leave will be paid directly from the DFML. The 52-week benefit period begins to run on the Sunday immediately prior to the first day of leave.Įmployees must provide their employer with at least 30 days’ notice of the anticipated starting date, length of leave, and expected return date. Starting on July 1, 2021, employees may take leave to care for other family members with a serious health condition, not limited to service members.Įmployees can take a total of 26 weeks of leave for all purposes in any 52-week benefit period.
